Over the past few years I’ve been trying to get better at supporting the individuals and organisations that I admire.

This page lists the charities, companies and individuals I support through either donations, subscriptions or by purchasing their products and services.

Charities #

Ecologi makes it easy to offset my carbon footprint and fund climate projects for a small monthly fee.

Crisis UK is a charity that supports homeless people. I donate annually and via AmazonSmile to provide food and shelter for the homeless.

DogsTrust protects dogs in the UK from maltreatment, cruelty and suffering. As dog owners ourselves, we donate a small amount each month to help out.

Independent companies and individuals #

Making Sense and Waking Up are projects by Sam Harris. I subscribe to both. Sam has had a huge impact on the way I see the world.

Overcast is a podcast app on iOS created by Marco Arment. It’s one of my most used applications.

Dithering is a subscription-only podcast by tech writers Ben Thompson and John Gruber. I’ve enjoyed both of their work over the years.

Ralfy is a whisky reviewer who has shared over 800(!) whisky reviews on YouTube. I have learnt so much about whisky from Ralfy and have enjoyed watching hundreds of his videos (usually with a dram in hand).

Thomas Heaton is one of my favourite YouTubers. He’s a landscape photographer, and films his journey to getting to getting the perfect photo. I buy his books and calendars.
